A new town hall was planned in the municipal complex project in 1936, in the building that extended the imposing cinema to the east. The aim was not to build a pompous town hall, but to provide the town with a town hall with meeting rooms and the services necessary for its proper functioning. Construction began just as the outbreak of war was looming...
The town hall suffered construction delays due to the war and the Occupation, but its completion was in line with the initial project. Since then, apart from interior improvements to improve public reception and allow departments to fulfill new missions, it has retained the rotunda room as a meeting room for elected officials, a room that also serves as the wedding hall, topped with a balcony where wedding guests can applaud the newlyweds.
