As its name suggests, this wash house is located north of the former slaughterhouse, now the Peña Taurine de Morcenx.

It was intended for families living far from the oldest wash house in the town, the one on Avenue Nelson Gaston. Water was plentiful: long before the expansion of the Gare district, the entire northern part of what would become Morcenx was flooded with water from the marshes created by the meandering Bès River.

Its location allowed it to receive this drainage water upstream from the slaughterhouse's discharges. Its construction date is unknown, but it appears in aerial photographs from 1946 onwards. It was emptied under the railway line into the slaughterhouse stream (blue arrow), which likely, if not condemned the wash house, at least limited its use.

Its timber frame was renovated by students in the building trades program at the Morcenx vocational high school. Like the wash house on Nelson Gaston Avenue, it is part of the heritage circuit of wash houses in the Pays des Sources.
