13. La salle des fêtes

Morcenx's first community hall, it met the need to provide the town with a meeting place for associations, particularly the Morcenx Cigale band, the main organizer of the festivals.

14. La Communauté de Communes du Pays Morcenais

Obviously, with the introduction of coeducation in June 1965 and a start date no longer set for October 1st, the municipalities had little time to organize. The girls' school left a space to be transformed: classrooms and a two-story pavilion at each end.

The construction of a modern nursery school in the 1950s left behind an old building with classrooms and a covered playground, as well as a single-story pavilion (red arrow).

16. L'église Saint-Vincent-de-Paul

Once a school complex had been built in the Morcenx-Gare neighborhood, elected officials focused on starting construction on the church. According to the 1886 census, Morcenx-Gare and its surrounding neighborhoods, including Moré, Batan, Cornalis, and others, had a population of approximately 900.

After the « Fête des Poilus » in 1919, Morcenx felt compelled to honor those who had died for their country. A public fundraising campaign was launched, which raised 12,356 francs.

18. Salle de la Pailleuse

Taking Boulevard Galliéni, formerly Boulevard de la Liberté, towards Avenue Pasteur, the visitor finds himself in front of a community hall located in the swimming pool square and curiously named the Salle de la Pailleuse (Pile Maker's Hall).

19. La Maison des Assistants Maternels (MAM) et la Micro-Crèche (MIC)

To meet frequently expressed needs, a Childminders' Center (MAM) and a Micro-Nursery (MIC) were planned for 2022.

20. La nouvelle école maternelle

Avenue Pasteur leads to the so-called nursery school intersection. The construction of a new nursery school in Morcenx, capable of accommodating the baby boomers, became a necessity in January 1952. To this end, a shaded area was purchased from Dr. Tissègre, then owner of the Moré estate.

21. L'arboretum du domaine de Moré

On the Moré estate, former fields spanning 5 hectares provided a suitable location for an arboretum. The commune had no shortage of wooded areas, but it lacked a park open to the public.

Rather than a castle, this is a winery, the residence of the winery lord of the Barony of Brassenx. 23. L'Étang du domaine de Moré

The Moré estate pond exists thanks to reservoirs located upstream and downstream of the ditch that currently feeds it. A reservoir pond in the Landes generally corresponds to the presence of a mill (red arrow), which is not the case for the Moré pond.

24. Le lavoir de l'avenue Nelson Gaston

Morcenx owes its first washhouse to the station's barman, Isaac Seba. Elected to the town council in 1871, he emphasized its necessity for families newly settled in what was then only a neighborhood of the village of Morcenx.
