25. Le stade de Nazères

As with the municipal stadium, the construction of a vast stadium in Nazères in 1977 required stump removal, leveling, and harrowing before the field could be laid with grass. This new stadium was operational in the early 1980s.

26. Le Cimetière de Morcenx

No sooner had the construction of the church in Morcenx-Gare been completed than the town council decided that the inhabitants should have a place, a cemetery, to bury their dead.

27. La piste d'athlétisme

Consolidated with rubble from the demolition of the former distillery and covered with a synthetic surface, the athletics track was built in 2002 thanks to financial aid from Europe, the Regional Council, and the General Council. 28. Skatepark et Pumptrack

Inaugurated in 2004, its construction helped to bury a large portion of the materials from the demolition of the old distillery.

29. La halle de la Distillerie

There was indeed a distillery in Morcenx, but what did they distill there? Pine sawdust to extract wood alcohol, methanol. The raw material was abundant, especially near the mobile sawmills in the forest: burning the sawdust was out of the question.

30. Le complexe sportif Léon Brouste

A gymnasium was missing from the 1965 Sports Park project. The municipality commissioned the Bayonne architect André Bergès to draw up the plans. It was finally built in 1972 opposite what was then just the industrial wasteland of the Distillery.

31. Le Dojo

Formerly an annex of the Saint-Geours factory, a large wood-drying barn was converted in 2005-2006.

32. Le lavoir de la Pena

As its name suggests, this wash house is located north of the former slaughterhouse, now the Peña Taurine de Morcenx.

33. Salle de la Pena

It is located at the end of a road called Chemin de l’Abattoir (Slaughterhouse Road). This is not surprising: it uses the site of the former municipal slaughterhouse, one of the town's very first public services, inaugurated in 1868, when the Gare district was beginning to expand.

34. Salles du Maroc

For the residents of Morcenx, two halls bear this name: the Grand Maroc (Great Morocco) and the Petit Maroc (Little Morocco). 35. Stade Municipal

This second stadium, located to the north of the Luxcey-Bonnat stadium, increased the town's sports facilities thanks to the purchase of land parcels beginning in 1947.

36. Stade Luxcey-Bonnat

The CAM, the Morcenx Friendly Club, was created in 1905 to unite Morcenx's sports activities. The next step was to provide it with the resources to fully practice all disciplines in stadiums and gymnasiums designed for this purpose.
